Unlike other candidates, I answer only to the people. Built in Australia, For Australians.

First and foremost, James Laurie is a true family man. James, along with his wife Janelle of 18 years, are proud parents of their three children. Every decision James and Janelle have made together, has been with the welfare of children in mind, including the one to run for seat of Bendigo in the 2022 Federal Election.

James has lived in central Victoria for much of his life. Starting in Avoca as a child, moved to Maryborough in the early 90’s where he excelled in sports including representing Australia in Basketball and representing for Victoria at Tae Kwon Do national competition.

James is the eldest of 4 other siblings and was forced to take on responsibilities beyond his years at a very young age. If kids born into privilege are “Born with a silver spoon in their mouth” James was born with a rusty fork that had 2 prongs missing and a broken handle. Everything James has today, he earned! Not by doing anything the easy way, but by the sweat of his brow and devotion to his family. These life lessons are what sets James apart from the other candidates.

James is one of us. He coaches Basketball at Flite Basketball club, is actively involved in his kids sporting activities including fundraising for those less fortunate. Even volunteering his time putting on a jolly red suit in December shows the level of commitment and connection James feels with his local community. He has also work in various industries across central Victoria, which will be invaluable in giving him a wide perspective of community concerns for the constituent of the seat of Bendigo.

James never thought of himself as political. Although attentive to the political landscape, James Laurie MP was never part of plan for the Laurie family. However fate has had other ideas.

Since the beginning of 2020, James along with many members of the community have witnessed government stripping citizens of their rights, whilst simultaneously legislating more power for the few at the top. As a proud Australian, loving husband and father and active member of the Bendigo community, the time for complaining was over, the time for action has begun.

James is running in the seat of Bendigo as a true independent, free from having to toe party lines or align with special interest. If elected, James will be guided by the voices in the community and principles that can’t be wrapped, changed or compromised. The kids come first! What we as a society do today, our children have to live with tomorrow and will do everything to give his and your kids the best possible tomorrow they can have.

James will run a platform of giving the working class , the mums and dads and the small business owners an actual voice in parliament. He has no party leader to answer to, no other members to shape his opinion, James will only answer to you!

We need someone in charge to lower taxes, lower the sky rocketing cost of living and rebuild a sense of community among the electorate.

Australia is heading down a scary path and we are at a crossroads. They say “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I’m here to tell you, our system is broken and something needs to change if we are any chance of fixing it.. If you want to see some actual change. If you want to see power being returned to the people of Bendigo?

What do you have to lose?

Anzac Day is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. On this day, and every day, we acknowledge and remember all those who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces in Australia, New Zealand, and our partners who have stood side by side for over 100 years.
